Wendover Canal Trust Volunteers Required
Our events team was originally formed to run the annual Tring Canal Festivals and consisted of the partners of the committee and restoration workers. A good social bond was felt by all through participating in raising funds and advertising the canal to the local community. Unfortunately, the last festival was over 10 years ago, and the team has grown older. All support the Trust but are now unable to assist in physical events.
The Trust is looking for enthusiastic members to help in the future. Volunteers are needed to reactivate the outreach programme with the local schools as contacts were lost during the Covid outbreak. The Trust also needs a presence within the local community. This has been achieved in the past through attending festival events and designing library displays showing details of how much work is being achieved.
These measures are a mandatory requirement by the funders of the future, i.e. Lottery Bids, and council community funds. It is essential to show that the “Wendover in Water” will be an asset to all members of the local community. We hope you can help! We must keep the funds coming in to back our industrious and loyal restoration workers.
