Wendover Cricket Club – June 2016
Senior report: (Jonathan Seabrook)
The senior season began with a win over Regals by 42 runs, Andy Holmes scored 44 and Bob Glue 33, whilst Shailesh Govekar (4-43) and George Robinson (3-19) were the most successful bowlers. At Kimble, Wendover lost by 87 runs but the highlight was Jacob Davis’s superb 37*. The 1st XI had a convincing win at Bradenham by 95 runs in the Mid Bucks League Premier Division, when George Robinson hit a brilliant 139 and Tom McPartlan a rapid fire 56* in Wendover’s 239-5. Then 15 year old Jacob Davis took 4-21 including a hattrick. In the following day’s game at home to Greenwood Park, Andy Capjon also achieved the rare feat of a hattrick and the 3rd wicket was due to a stunning catch by Andy Holmes; remarkable to have 2 hattricks in a single weekend. New senior players are always welcome and they should contact Club Captain Jonathan Seabrook on 07767 148119.
Junior report: (Richard Peck)
The new season is well under way for the juniors section with all age groups busily training at either the Ellesborough Road ground or the Witchell, and most having already played fixtures in either the Aylesbury District Midweek Cricket League or the Bucks Cricket League. Registration has been so popular this year that we already have a waiting list for the Under 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s and 13s. If you would like to learn more or be added to this list please contact Richard Peck, Juniors Manager at richard@rcpeck.co.uk or on 01296 624209.
