Wendover Celebrates – Virtually!

It was sad that after so much planning we could not continue with the event this year, however, we were pleased that we had made the right decision to postpone. In lieu of the event itself, we launched Wendover Virtually Celebrates to keep in touch and raise funds to support our local NHS. We hope you enjoyed our links to all the bands during the day and got to listen to them, albeit virtually – fingers crossed they will all be back with us for the actual event next May.

We were overwhelmed with the response to our photographic competitions – particularly the dog show, what a village full of dog lovers we are! The winner of our family photo competition and receiving a free family ticket for next year’s event is Maria Garbutt, who sent a gorgeous photo of her son, Jack, celebrating at Wendover Celebrates 2018.

The dog show winners are as follows and for this we must thank Emily Bunce for co-ordinating the independent judging, and In the Ribbon Rosettes for providing the most gorgeous rosettes for our winners.
Best Smile: 1st Axl Rose, Danni Cox; 2nd Missy, JoJo Bateman; 3rd Betty, Sian Phillips; 4th Yogi, Jane Taylor
Prettiest Bitch: 1st Poppy, Lauren Rowe Elliott; 2nd Nelly, Georgia Pavalpolos; 3rd, -Ruby, Tracy Elliott; 4th Mango, James Cracoft
Most Handsome Dog: 1st Maximus, Megan Vella; 2nd Handsome Boy, Lydia Jess; 3rd Otis, Carol McCullock; 4th Dudley, Karen Grace
Best Puppy: 1st Daisy, Marissa Makinson Hall; 2nd Merlin, Julia Goodes; 3rd Tarka, Abigail Davison Hoult; 4th Reggie, Georgia Davies.

There are still some rosettes awaiting collection from Fiona Michaels, The Barn, 13 High Street, Wendover.

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to those of you who donated to our Just Giving page. We are now back into planning for the postponed event in May 2021. Stay safe until then and keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates!
