Wendover Cricket Club, June 2022

Wendover Cricket Club is 4 weeks into the new season and have already played 24 junior and 11 senior matches. In all, there are some 150 junior matches scheduled across 10 age groups and also with 2 girls teams.

The Girls Section caters for 9 to 12 year olds, running ECB Dynamos-style sessions on Sunday mornings and separate hardball training on Fridays; new recruits are welcome. For this and any other playing enquiries, contact Jonathan Seabrook on 07767 148 119 or use contacts via www.pitchero.com/clubs/wendovercricketclub.

The new ground development progress continues to frustrate; despite planning permission being given on 25 April, one of the key conditions with programme implications is to carry out archaeology investigations and we were set to start this in early April. But HS2 then decided this was the moment to insist that no further surveys or intrusive works could take place without a licence and 6 weeks later, we are still waiting for the licence. Consequently it is now certain we will be without a main ground for a second season and we are indebted to 4 local clubs who are allowing our teams to use their grounds – Aylesbury Town, Kimble, Lt Missenden Misfits and Monks Risborough CC’s.
