Wendover & District Rotary update, October 2021
Duck Races, Sunday 24 October
Last year, Rotary in Wendover held its first Duck Race in Wendover. This year it will take place again but this time there will be two different races for different types of ducks. To avoid crowding, the times of the races will not be announced unless we are certain that local Covid infection rates have dropped sufficiently. The races will be live streamed on https://www.facebook.com/RotaryinWendoverandDistrict. You can purchase the number of a duck (£2) from J Brown Funeral Servies at 23 High Street or any member of the Rotary Club of Wendover & District. Profits from the duck races will be divided among Rotary supported charities including the MS Centre and Pace.
Classic Duck Race
This will pitch up to 400 small ducks into the Heron Stream by Heron Path Cottage. The current will take them towards Chapel Lane culvert where they will be caught and three winners announced.
Business Duck Race
Ducks for the Business Race will cost £15. These ducks are double the size of those for the classic race and each business will be invited to decorate their duck as they see fit (using environmentally friendly paints etc). Each business can retain their duck to be used again next year in which case the 2022 entrance fee will be reduced to £10.
Prizes

Santa Sleigh
Each year the number of roads visited by the Santa Sleigh is limited by the number of volunteers available. If you would like to help out this year, email cheryl@monkeypuzzlehighwycombe.co.uk.
