Wendover Evening WI 50th Birthday

Wendover Evening WI celebrated its 50th Birthday on Tuesday 3rd August with a 1970’s theme.  Many ladies were dressed in their vintage 70’s clothing or hired fancy dress for the occasion.  Prosecco was served to start the party and  Fiona Harrison was the singer who sang songs from the 70’s, which made most ladies get up and dance.  After that a delicious Afternoon Tea was served by the Committee.

The celebratory cake was the shape of a book and decorated beautifully by Gill Barrons and Sandra Borns.  This was cut by the existing President Sheila Hemmings and four former Presdients.  Liz Lupton, Morag Corrigan, Marilyn Storer and Margaret Stacey.

A Golden raffle was held with champagne, a golden rose bush, golden chocolates and a fruit basket.
