Wendover Evening WI help with Centenary Baton Celebrations

You may remember that the WI Event Notice in the April edition of Wendover News featured the WI Centenary and the Baton event due to take place on Saturday 25 April at Wyevale Garden Centre at Worlds End.

The Baton was escorted from Aylesbury by eight WI members on bicycles and bringing up the rear was a brightly decorated sports car.

Wyevale Nursery generously hosted this event. Supporters were provided with refreshments and their catering team baked a special celebratory cake. A Wyevale horticulturist gave a talk on the WI and the Institute’s connections with gardening.

Finally the Baton was collected by motorcycle and went onto High Wycombe.
