Wendover High Street Sheep Drive February 2016

Every year, the pregnant sheep have to be moved from their pasture to inside accomodation to inside for mid-winter lambing. Farmer Edward Mogford finds it is kinder for the sheep to use their legs than be carried all the way in a truck. in February they moved into a field off Hale Road rather than straight into the farmyard.

Unfortunately, seven of the lambs born to these ewes have died in a savage dog attack. Farmer Edward Mogford warns, “Although I caught the dog in the act of killing those sheep, the CPS look unlikely to prosecute which reinforces my view that when this happens again, and it is sure to, we will shoot the dog.”
