Wendover HS2 – July 2020
During the past month we have had a constructive series of meetings with Martin Tett and the Flood management team at Buckinghamshire Council (BC). We highlighted the Wendover noise and aquifer damage and potential flooding issues in Aylesbury that HS2 is likely to cause and the mitigations that can be reasonably sought, as HS2 submit their statutory design submissions in the forthcoming months.
As a result we are now actively involved in a wider Aylesbury Vale response with BC and the Environment Agency on the aquifer issue and are hoping for the same on the noise issues. Despite the pressures BC are under, we are pleased to report that Martin has been particularly supportive in following up with a robust but realistic council response to respective government departments and HS2 on the two issues.
