Now in its 51st year the unique Young Enterprise Company Programme needs business mentors to help prepare local young people for their future working lives. As they run a real mini company over one academic year, the students take the reins in weekly meetings – write business plans, create a product or service, resource, market and sell the product, manage accounts and an HSBC bank account.

Your business knowledge and skills could be invaluable in helping them encounter such key competencies such as:-

* communication

* confidence

* entrepreneurial ability

* financial literacy

* organisation

* problem solving

* teamwork and

* resilience…and you get to learn and develop too!
