Wendover Youth Centre News – June 2019

As we enter the summer term there is lots to look forward to. However, it would be remiss of us not to say a BIG THANK YOU to Martha Barnes (youth worker) for all her hard work over the last few terms. Martha has been a real asset to the Youth Centre and a great hit with the young people. Martha left us at the end of last term to go on to pastures new; she will be leading her own youth work up near Peterborough. We would like to publicly thank her for all she has done and wish her well for the next stage of her journey.

As a Centre we will be recruiting to replace Martha. The job will be slightly more senior than that performed by Martha as we seek to put in place the people needed to deliver our vision for the Youth Centre and the work so loved by Young People. Please look out for our advert coming soon, and please share with any connections you know who might be interested. Speak direct to WYC Chair Tony Playle if you have questions or suggestions.

Save the date for July the 19th. Our popular festival for young people going into school year 6 and up, will be back to celebrate the end of term in style. We will be on Ashbrook Park and will have inflatables, archery, crafts, Choco Kebabs and Hungry Bear back by popular demand. We will also have some local charities and clubs joining us. Look out in the Wendover News and for our banners and flyers coming soon as more details are confirmed.
