Chiltern Society Farm Shop Award 2013

In April this year the Society launched a brand new initiative – the Chiltern Society Farm Shop Award. The purpose of the project is to fulfil our aim of supporting local food producers and suppliers by celebrating our local food heroes.

We began by inviting Chiltern farm and brewery shops to enter for the award. We were thrilled by the fantastic response to the scheme. The public were also invited to vote for their favourite shop.

The judging phase commenced on June 5th with members of our team visiting participating farm shops in order to score them on criteria such as local produce, quality of service, range of products etc and the competition to be the very first winner of this award was pretty fierce!

The Chiltern Society is pleased to announce the winner – Seasons Farm Shop, North Dean with 4 highly commended runners up – P E Mead of Wilstone, The Quince Tree at Stonor, The Chiltern Brewery in Terrick and Peterley Manor Farm in Prestwood

The award certificate will be presented to the winner by our chairman, David Harris, on Friday 30 August at 11.00. The best runners up will receive a certificate of commendation.
