Join Horatio’s Garden at St Marylebone Parish Church this Christmas

Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville

National charity Horatio’s Garden are holding their very first carol concert at St. Marylebone Parish Church on Monday 2nd December from 6:30pm in order to raise funds to support spinal injury patients and their loved ones. The concert will be introduced by celebrity presenter and actress Mel Giedroyc, who has been an enthusiastic supporter of the charity since 2013.

The concert will also feature beautiful music from acclaimed Irish classical soprano Margaret Keys and heart-warming readings from various guest speakers, including actors Tony Gardner and Jemma Redgrave. Following the concert, which will last for approximately one hour, everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious mince pie and a festive glass of fizz in the cosy company of family and friends.

Horatio’s Garden creates and nurtures beautiful garden spaces in NHS spinal injury centres, growing thriving communities in each location to help people facing incredibly difficult times. As those with spinal injuries often spend months in hospital, many families will this year be celebrating Christmas on the ward. Horatio’s Garden offers them a place to appreciate the festive season in a lovely, comforting setting where everyone can simply enjoy being together.

Currently, there are four gardens open in Salisbury, Scotland, Stoke Mandeville and Oswestry, with a further two in London and Cardiff due to be completed by 2022. The charity thoughtfully chose to host the service at St. Marylebone as the parish is home to The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Bolsover Street, which is the sister establishment to the site at Stanmore where the fifth Horatio’s Garden will soon be being brought to life in 2020.

This truly is a unique way for you to start your seasonal celebrations. With a history stretching back nearly 900 years, St. Marylebone Parish Church is a remarkable place with an incredible atmosphere. Horatio’s Garden would love you to invite your loved ones to gather together here for a magical evening, which will help to make a difference to hundreds of lives across the UK this Christmas and beyond.

Tickets cost £25, with a reduced price of £15 for under 25s.
